We had a great time at last night’s Lodge Banquet. We had a good attendance from Wek-Wek, and I was very pleased with the way things turned out. You should be proud of yourselves.
There’s less than a week to go until Ut-In Sélica’s Lodge Banquet. It will be on Saturday, October 17th and will be located at:
Calvary Baptist Church
2140 Olivera Court in ConcordSet-Up will be at 2:30, Chiefs’ Council will be at 4:00, and Dinner will be at 6:00.
Since Wek-Wek is hosting the Banquet, it would be great if we had a large turn-out from Muir District. Cost is only $15, and if you haven’t registered yet, you can do so at https://secure.bsa-mdsc.org/registration/calendardetail.asp?ActivityKey=653731
Wek-Wek Gazette-Gazette went offline for a while over the weekend, while I moved it onto a different server.
The good news is that I have more control over the site, giving us more security, and a fresher, cleaner look. And check out the newly-revised calendar page. I hope you find it helpful.
The bad news is that the move lost all of our registered users. For that I apologize, and I hope you all will register on the new site.
Wek-Wek’s regular Apanuc meeting is this Thursday, September 3rd at 7:00 at the LDS Church on Denkinger. We have lots to discuss.
Conclave is coming soon (September 18-20), and Ut-In Selica is the Host Lodge. Section W-3N will be buying T-Shirts for the host Lodge.
Also at Conclave, WhereToGoCamping.info will, for the first time, be soliciting camping information information from people outside our own Apanuc. We need to be ready.
AND, less than a month after Conclave, Wek-Wek is hosting the Lodge Banquet.
I’ve moved the Apanuc Calendar from the website to Wek-Wek Gazette-Gazette, where I hope it will be easier to keep updated as well as find events.
Thursday, August the 6th will be the Muir District Kickoff, at the LDS Church on Denkinger Road.
All Arrowmen should come with their Troops, but be sure to bring your Sash. We’ll have a brief meeting at 7:00.
First things first: Congratulations to our new chief, Chris Jungenberg from Troop 317.
Also, Daniel Jungenberg is the Vice Chief, and Aric Bauer is the new Program Chief.
Stephen Hansen from Troop 429 was elected as Events Chief for Ut-In Sélica Lodge.
Our regular Apanuc meeting will be this Thursday, June 4th, at 7:00 at the LDS Church on Denkinger. I will not be bringing pizza to this meeting, but instead, we’ll have a End-of-Year pizza party after the Ordeal.
Wek-Wek has accomplished a lot during the past year, and I’m really pleased with all we’ve done. Now it’s time to elect new leadership for the Apanuc, and I’d like to see a lot of Arrowmen turn out for this month’s meeting.
Our new officers will have an opportunity for training this month, when Ut-In Sélica Lodge offers LLD (Lodge Leadership Development) on Saturday, May 16th. ALL Arrowmen are invited to LLD, but it is essential that the leaders of the Apanuc attend. I’ll let you know the location as soon as I find out.
I was very proud of the Arrowmen from Wek-Wek, this weekend at the Muir District Camporee at Camp Tamarancho. The Scouts planned and ran the Tomahawk throw and the Call-out at Campfire, and both events went exceptionally well.
The Tomahawk throw was very popular with Scouts, Scouters, and other family members. Troop 1994 took first place honors for the event, but many Scouts, including Webelos, were able to stick the tomahawk into the target. John Rivers was the first to score in the morning, and then continued to to show everyone how it was supposed to be done. Our Chief, Julian Houghtby was the only Scout to get a threefer, while Dan Smith was the only Leader to get a 3 for 3 round. One target didn’t make it to the end of the day, but all of the participants did.

During Saturday night’s campfire, Wek-Wek conducted a moving Flag retirement ceremony. Then, we held a Call-Out for 22 new Muir District candidates. The candidates were led to our tipi to join the Arrowmen for a fellowship. And even though the weather was colder than the ice cream, everyone seemed to enjoy the root beer floats.
Every meeting, you’ve been handed a bead, and you put it in your pocket and took it home with you.
Well, bring them all back!
I bought some lacing, and we’ll string our beads at our next Apanuc meeting, this Thursday, April 2nd, at 7:0pm, at the LDS Church on Denkenger. I also have medicine pouches for our Brotherhood members.
Congratulations to our newest Arrowmen: Aric Bauer (Troop 429), Stephen Hansen (Troop 429), and Conrad Houghtby (Troop 317), who just completed their Ordeal at Camp Lindblad.
Daniel Jungenberg and Jeffery Young, both of Troop 317, sealed their membership in Brotherhood. Congratulations to them.
Camporee is coming, and we need to have an exciting presence. Bring your sashes to Camporee.
Finally, we are nearing the end of election season. If your Troop hasn’t had an election yet, remind your Scoutmaster that we’re willing to come to your Troop meeting to hold an election, so Scouts from your Troop can be called-out at Camporee.
Finally, we do have a number of elections already scheduled. If you would like to help on an election team, drop me a quick E-Mail, and I’ll get back to you.
