Ut-In Sélica

You are currently browsing the archive for the Ut-In Sélica category.

Wek-Wek’s regular Apanuc meeting is this Thursday, September 3rd at 7:00 at the LDS Church on Denkinger.  We have lots to discuss.

Conclave is coming soon (September 18-20), and Ut-In Selica  is the Host Lodge.  Section W-3N will be buying T-Shirts for the host Lodge.

Also at Conclave, WhereToGoCamping.info will, for the first time, be soliciting camping information information from people outside our own Apanuc.  We need to be ready.

AND, less than a month after Conclave,  Wek-Wek is hosting the Lodge Banquet.

I’ve moved the Apanuc Calendar from the website to Wek-Wek Gazette-Gazette, where I hope it will be easier to keep updated as well as find events.

First things first: Congratulations to our new chief, Chris Jungenberg from Troop 317.

Also, Daniel Jungenberg is the Vice Chief, and Aric Bauer is the new Program Chief.
Stephen Hansen from Troop 429 was elected as Events Chief for Ut-In Sélica Lodge.

Our regular Apanuc meeting will be this Thursday, June 4th, at 7:00 at the LDS Church on Denkinger.  I will not be bringing pizza to this meeting, but instead, we’ll have a End-of-Year pizza party after the Ordeal.

Wek-Wek has accomplished a lot during the past year, and I’m really pleased with all we’ve done.  Now it’s time to elect new leadership for the Apanuc, and I’d like to see a lot of Arrowmen turn out for this month’s meeting.

Our new officers will have an opportunity for training this month, when Ut-In Sélica Lodge offers LLD (Lodge Leadership Development) on Saturday, May 16th.  ALL Arrowmen are invited to LLD, but it is essential that the leaders of the Apanuc attend.  I’ll let you know the location as soon as I find out.

Ut-In Sélica Lodge finally has a date for this year’s Lodge Banquet, and it’s Saturday, October 17th.  Since Wek-Wek is the host, we get to decide where to hold it, and what to serve.

  • So, do you have access to a Church, School, or other facility that can host over one hundred Arrowmen?
  • Do we want to cook or cater the meal?

Also, don’t forget the Lindblad Ordeal, on March 13-15th.  They still need Arrowmen to serve as Olangomats and on Ceremony teams.   They will also have a Chiefs Council, and another opportunity to seal your membership in Brotherhood.

Finally, the Lodge expects to host its Fellowship and Elections on the weekend of April 4-5th.  I’ll let you know when I have more details.

DON’T FORGET: WhereToGoCamping.info

Do you know where to go camping? Of course you do, and you know what your favorites are. So check out the WhereToGoCamping.info website, and share your knowledge with others.

Don’t forget our regular Apanuc meeting is this Thursday, February 5th, at 7:00pm, at the LDS Church on Denkenger.

Having pizza seemed to go over pretty well at our last Apanuc meeting, so we’ll try it again.  I’ll bring pizza on Thursday, November 6th, at 7:00 at the LDS Church on Denkenger.

We’re planning on bringing our headresses, so come check them out.  Also, ask your Scoutmaster when he wants to hold OA elections this year.

Welcome to the following new Arrowmen, who completed their Ordeal at the Wolfeboro Ordeal:

  • Joshua Domenguez, Troop 370
  • Greg Kling, Troop 364
  • Michael Kling, Troop 364
  • Nicholas Swiatko, Troop 262

I hope to see them all at upcoming OA Events.

Finally, some news about our new Section.  We are in Section W-F1.  Our first Conclave will be on September 18-19, 2009, and Ut-In Sélica Lodge is hosting it. We have tentatively  selected Travis AFB as the location.

Welcome.
First, let’s welcome our newest Arrowman, Ygnacio Mutio of Troop 380, who just completed his Ordeal at Camp Lindblad.

Western Region.
Next, the Western Region is being realigned. You can read more about it at the Western Region website: http://western.oa-bsa.org/. Our NEW Section doesn’t have an official designation, yet, but is comprised mostly of Lodges that used to be the Northern part of Section W-3B, plus Talako and Ut-In Sélica from W-3A. That means we won’t be seeing Achewon Nimat at Conclave until the next combined Conclave. That also means that our next Conclave will be in September `09 instead of April.

Road Trip, Anyone?
Section W-3B is having their final Conclave on September 12-14, 2008, in Reno. Is there any interest in sending an out-of-section contingent to their Conclave. Registration cut-off is Labor Day, September 1st.

September Events.
Our regular Apanuc Meeting will be on Thursday, September 4th, at 7:00 in the LDS Church on Denkenger Rd.
The Lodge Banquet if on Saturday, September 20, at 6:30 in Fairfield.  Details and registration are available online.

  • Kent Campbell

  • Mike Houghtby
  • Chris Jungenberg
  • Stan Jungenberg

The Ceremonies went well , thanks to Ajapeu Apanuc, who provided the Ceremonies Team. Our own Lance White played Nutiket, and liked it so much, he has agreed to be Wek-Wek’s Ceremonies Chief. Well Done!

Finally, I want to thank all of the Arrowmen who came out and supported the Ordeal, especially the Father/Son teams that chose to spend Father’s Day weekend in Brotherhood and Cheerful Service. I was very impressed and pleased with the turn-out from Wek-Wek. You all did a great job.

Enjoy your Summer, and GO CAMPING!

Conclave

Those of us who went to Section W3A Conclave on Coast Guard Island had a great time. Ut-In Selica Lodge was well-represented, and did well in the competitions. For pictures: http://wekwek.org/html/conclave08.html
